Dear Members,
An emergency Council Meeting of the Asiatic Society of Bangladesh (ASB) for the years 2024 and 2025 was convened on 1 January 2026. In the meeting, the Council expressed profound sorrow at the passing of former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia and offered prayers for the eternal peace of the departed soul.
As a mark of showing respect to the former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia, the ASB Council unanimously resolved that the Society’s 74th Foundation Day Programme, previously scheduled to be held on Saturday, 3 January 2026, will now be held on Friday, 9 January 2026 at 9:00 a.m., as per the existing programme sequence.
