The deed of trust signing ceremony of the Amena Arshad Memorial Trust Fund was held on 8 June 2023 in the Council Room of the Society. It is the 46th trust fund of the ASB. On behalf of the society, Professor Mohammad Siddiqur Rahman Khan, General Secretary, ASB, signed the deed, and Dr. Muhammad Abdul Mazid, retired Secretary to the Government of Bangladesh and former Chairman of the National Board of Revenue (NBR), signed as the founder.
Professor Khondoker Bazlul Hoque, President, ASB; Professor Sajahan Miah, Vice President, ASB; and Professor Mohammad Humayun Kabir, Secretary, ASB, signed as witnesses. The initial capital of the trust fund is Tk. 10,00,000/- (Taka ten lac only). The trust fund has been established with a view to organizing annual lectures and/or awarding research grants on topics related to the Sundarbans, the largest mangrove forest in the world and a natural tapestry of Asia, in particular, and other forests of Bangladesh in general.
